The Quiet SDR Project

Most all of the user's of Software Defined Radio are familiar with the spurious signal generation that accompanies Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) of the local oscillator (LO IN) used for mixing with the QSD Section of the SDR radio receiver hardware. This applies to SDR transceivers as well.

This project proposes to eliminate or at least minimize the spurious signals through the use of an already tested circuit that generates a tunable and digitally stabilized LO IN. Some work has already been done in this regards here at Wavelengths Research and we hope to carry this forth and produce a product worthy of use by all, particularly the military and perhaps even in the future by radio astronomy.
